Symptoms:
- pain
- tenderness
- swelling
- crepitus upon palpitation
Diagnosis:
- physical exam, your doctor can press on the affected area or test your flexibility, alignment, and range of motion
- x-ray (even though it cannot visualize soft tissues, it can help rule out other conditions that have similar symptoms)
- ultrasound (uses sound waves to visualize soft tissue)
- MRI
Treatment:
- P.R.I.C.E
- anti-inflammatory medication
- massaging area
- rehabilitation to help strengthen and stretch the muscles
- orthodics are recommended because they can elevate the heal and relieve strain on the tendon
